Project Akira!

A couple weeks ago, I was asked by a friend of mine (Damien Cho: www.cicmotion.com) if I were interested in creating a piece for The IdN Animé book project. How can I turn that down? lol. The assignment basically asked to create a post apocolyptic New York City. Ohhh man.. I don't even want to tell you what I went through to send my artwork. Gmail only allows up to 10mb per email. :/

Mural Mimeo.com

Here it is guys. I've been asked a lot about the progress of the mural. It was finally completed on election day. :) For those of you who do not know of Mimeo.com, it's an online printing company that specializes in digital printing.
The mural was pretty challenging due to the fact that it was pretty huge. Another roadblock that I faced was that the whites of the wall and the acrylic paint didn't match. So there was a lot of refining required. The only thing that was rendered is the cityscape made of documents. I was asked a lot about color. I felt if I started placing fully rendered figures in there, it might have looked a bit tacky unless done the right way. The original approach was to have a it in black and white to give it a graphic novel feel and that's what me and my art director stuck with. I'm pretty pleased with the result. Hope you guys like it!

Everybody loves Harley!

Once again, I find myself swamped with work. Haven't been able to do much stuff for fun. So Here's my little take on Harley Quinn. I took some liberties with the pose and anatomy :)

Autographs are Awesome!

After the internship, I headed over to Rick Lacy's book signing and picked up his latest graphic novel: Labor Days. You guys should check it out! Rick is an amazing artist and draws like maniac! Writer Phillip Gelatt was also there, so I got 2 autographs. How awesome is that? I'll definitely take Rick's advice. ;)

New Project

Thought I should end my experience at my graphic design job with a bang! The company will be occupying the entire third floor of the building! Out of 3 sketches this one was chosen for finish. This piece ~(10'x15') is gonna be in the sub lobby. So here it is... Woopaah! Thanks Doug!
